Introduce Children to Basic Themes in 4 Easy Steps:

Read aloud the text to children. Then read aloud the text together.

Point to and read aloud any labels on the photos. Call on volunteers to repeat the labels for the group.

3.
Focus on one photo at a time. Ask children to describe what they see. Talk about how the photo relates to the theme.

4.
Discuss what else children know about the theme from their lives.
